University Living, an innovative managed marketplace and international student accommodation provider, has clocked a 300 percent growth in its global business in the 2018-2019 financial year.

On top of that impressive growth in annual revenue, the company reported a 30 percent month-on-month growth in this quarter alone.

Currently offering 1 million beds in 12,000 verified properties, University Living has established a global presence in more than 180 international cities across markets such as the UK, Australia, USA, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, Dubai, and Singapore.

Its credentials are undeniable, but University Living came from humble beginnings. Founded in 2015 by two former roommates from India, Saurabh Arora and Mayank Maheshwari, the company has grown astronomically to what it is today.

The pair won the Economic Times’ Power of Ideas in their first year and managed to maintain that momentum, picking up the title as one of the Ten Best Start-Ups awarded by IIIT-Delhi, winning the BigB Plan organised by Espark-Viridian Accelerator in association with Headstart Network Foundation, and topping off 2016 by being officially recognised by Startup India.

That streak of success only looks set to continue as, in the last four months, University Living has outstripped the total business done in the previous year, surpassing the target number and internal milestones for financial year 2019-20 ahead of its time.

The pair started on a mission to help international students find safe, trustworthy accommodation when travelling overseas. They are continuing this goal today, expanding globally and buying up their smaller counterparts to grow their reach in international student accommodation.

“It is estimated that only one out of six students are able to access campus accommodation in the global higher education sector,” founder and CEO,  Saurabh Arora, told Asian Age.

“Our mission at University Living is to help students not only find verified, premium purpose-built housing but also fulfil a variety of needs that are part and parcel of living overseas. As such, we have tied up with a host of local service providers in more than 180 cities across the globe to ensure that students are happily accommodated in their new environment away from home.”

Starting with a team of just five staff, the team now boasts over 65 professionals committed to the University Living ethos. The in-house team of experts leverages the company’s cutting-edge AI-driven, API-integrated platform to ensure the delivery of highly-customised services to students, handpicked to best suit their individual needs.

“We are delighted to observe that students are increasingly embracing us as their preferred accommodation partner,” said Saurabh.

“We will continue to offer our state-of-the-art services to students while expanding the reach and diversity of our offerings. Our aim is to not only ease but also enrich their experience of studying abroad.”
