The recent resurgence of the Black Lives Matter protests shone a brighter spotlight on the urgent need for companies today to provide diversity and inclusion training programmes for employees at all levels.

Several studies have shown that companies with higher rates of diversity see improvements in areas such as financial performance and productivity, and enhanced levels of creativity and innovation.

Yet, companies were found lagging behind in diversity training and efforts to hire more ethnically diverse staff, even cutting budgets for training due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Geri Stengel wrote on Forbes, “Rage turned to action and Black Lives Matter protest rallies erupted around the world. Pushed by employees and fear of losing customers, companies pledged to play a prominent role in combating racism.”

Companies now have a renewed sense of responsibility to offer diversity and inclusion training programmes in the global fight towards a more fair and just society.

If you’re a business leader and looking to offer diversity and inclusion training for your staff and managers, there are a number of online courses to check out that are not only cost-effective, but easy to deliver to those who are working remotely.

These programmes educate employees and supervisors on workplace diversity, fair hiring and promoting practices, and how to build inclusive teams.
