UT Dallas Global Leadership MBA (GLEMBA) is a flexible program designed for career-minded professionals
The University of Texas at Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management Global Leadership MBA (GLEMBA) program is a customizable online global leadership MBA designed for business leaders of today.
With over 20 years of experience in distance education, the GLEMBA is a fully online program designed for the dynamic professional looking for career growth by enhancing their international business perspective.
The program is ranked as the No. 1 online global MBA in Texas by The CEO Magazine in 2020, and the Jindal School is ranked fourth worldwide in research contributions from 2015 to 2019.
Students enrolled in the GLEMBA program benefit from its highly individualized and flexible structure that caters to specific needs.

In the first year of the 21-month program, students focus on the UT Dallas MBA core courses and begin their international management concentration.
In the second year, students complete core and international management concentrations and elective courses for their concentration of choice.
GLEMBA’s online learning program includes both synchronous (you participate in in real time, at the same time as a lecture or class is conducted) and asynchronous (you participate not at the same time as a lecture or course is conducted) learning, featuring weekly recorded lectures and study-group web conferences that allow students to access content at times convenient to their busy schedules.
Dr. Carolyn Reichert, a clinical associate professor of finance and managerial economics and director of the MS in Finance program at the Jindal School, said Dr. Steven Guisinger, the founder of GLEMBA, built interaction and flexibility into the program’s design, and they have remained key components of GLEMBA for the past two decades.
“Whether integrating new technology, cutting-edge research or the changing economic landscape, GLEMBA continues to evolve to meet the challenges faced by today’s students. The online program integrates student and faculty feedback to create an educational environment designed for full-time working professionals,” Reichert said.
“I have the privilege of interacting with full-time professionals, and I know the insights they bring to the program. GLEMBA benefit as well from world-class faculty and outstanding administrative support. We learn from each other, modifying the curriculum and the teaching methods to meet the rapidly changing needs of working professionals,” she said.
The flexible structure of the program has allowed professionals like Imraan Husain from GLEMBA Class of 2017 to progress as professionals while juggling work and life.
“This was the most valuable decision I have made to advance my career and my life,” said Imraan, director of Articulator Dental Management.
“The web conference meetings provided the convenience of continued engagement regardless of time zones. The program will add value to your life, in as many aspects as you choose.”
The program’s flexible delivery also drew Erinn Marks from GLEMBA Class of 2019 to enroll.
“I searched for an online program that was a win-win,” she said. “I was able to pursue my MBA and enjoy the last of the wonder years with my children.”
GLEMBA strong leadership focus prepares business leaders for the future
The GLEMBA program delivers the soft skills and insights needed to develop both individuals and organizations.
IT Operations Manager at Splunk, Andy Miller of GLEMBA’s Class of 2016 said that GLEMBA’s focus on global business challenges was vital in helping him understand how his company can grow and succeed in a globally competitive landscape.
“The courses, interaction with peers and the exceptional faculty have empowered me to analyze and solve problems differently. Essentially the program has enabled me to become a better leader,” Miller said.
Although Global Leadership MBA students learn in a fully online environment, the program structure enables them to develop strong peer leadership skills through international study and executive coaching opportunities.
GLEMBA graduates go on to take on leadership roles. Among them is Holly Martin of the GLEMBA Class of 2019, customer experience manager at J.B. Hunt.
Martin was recently promoted as a new manager and attributes her success to the program.
“Because of this program, I was able to present within my organization to five different groups, which led to a promotion, an invitation to assist with three special projects as a new manager and an appointment as a co-chair to lead professional development for an internal employee resource group,” she said.
Individuals and organizations have the option of personalizing their GLEMBA qualifications by adding a concentration in Business Analytics, Finance, Organizational Consulting, Project Management, Strategic HR or Transformational Leadership.
Ashwin Prakash from GLEMBA’s Class of 2020 credits his new role as head of data science and analytics at HCA Healthcare to the comprehensiveness of the program.
Prakash said the application of knowledge from operations management and strategic management courses made an immediate impact on his role by “merging the lines between school and work while providing an instant return on investment.”
There is also an option to choose a combination of electives tailor-made to specific professional goals.
Global Leadership MBA students learn in a completely online environment but can be recognized for peer leadership, travel on an international study tour, expand professional soft skills with executive coaching, personalize their GLEMBA degree or capitalize on the career services offered through JSOM’s Career Management Center.
The school’s dedicated career center partners with employers to prepare students for the professional world and to facilitate connections through diverse events, programs, workshops and on-campus recruiting services.
The Career Management Center’s talented team of professionals provides an outstanding experience for employers and students.
GLEMBA students have found the program beneficial to their understanding of business success across various industries, thereby promising career growth.
Darrick Fitzgerald, a GLEMBA graduate from the Class of 2018, is now a managing Consultant in the Supply Chain Management Reverse Logistics Team at Verizon Wireless.
“GLEMBA was not a career pursuit; it was a life pursuit,” Fitzgerald said.” ven today, tenets from the program impact how I think, how I approach a problem in my career and how I craft my emails. Was I promoted after I finished my degree? Yes.”
The sentiment that GLEMBA is not just a learning experience, it is a life experience was echoed by James Hawes, GLEMBA Class of 2019, who was the founder and COO of bombdoor.com and now consults with Pentecom LLC.
“As a member of the United States military, I have experienced supporting missions all over the world,” Hawes said.
The program also provides networking opportunities for both students and alumni through events including quarterly speaker series, book clubs and alumni discussion with faculty.
“Earning a Global Leadership MBA at UT Dallas complements and enhances this experience through education so I may continue growing a positive impact globally,” Hawes added.
