Google recently announced three new additions to its extensive lineup of Professional Certificate programmes – these are designed to prepare learners to obtain entry-level roles in under six-months.
The key perks? There are no prerequisites. Each Google Professional Certificate is 100% online and are self-paced. Each course is priced at just 39 US dollars a month.
Upon completion, learners will be able to share their details with over 100 partners committed to sourcing talent from Google certificate programmes including Deloitte, Anthem, Verizon, Snap Inc, among other renown companies.
Here’s what learners need to know about Google’s three new entry-level Professional Certificates:
Data Analytics Professional Certificate
Spread over eight courses, learners will gain in-demand skills that will prepare them for an entry-level job in the growing field of data analytics. At just under 10 hours per week, the certificate can be completed in less than six months.
The programme includes over 180 hours of instruction and hundreds of practice-based assessments, which will help them simulate real-world data analytics scenarios that are critical for success in the workplace.
The content is highly interactive and is exclusively developed by seasoned Google employees with decades of experience in data analytics. Through a mix of videos, assessments, and hands-on labs, you’ll learn the fundamentals of analysis tools and platforms, along with key analytical skills required for an entry-level job.
UX Design Professional Certificate
This programme teaches learners the UX design process from beginning to end, including: empathising with users; defining user pain points; coming up with ideas for design solutions; creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes; testing designs through usability studies; and iterating on designs based on feedback.
Within seven courses, learners will create designs on paper and in digital design tools like Figma and Adobe XD. Upon completion, they will have a professional UX portfolio that includes three end-to-end projects so that they’re ready to apply for jobs – directly at Google or at one of over 130 US employers.
Project Management: Professional Certificate
This six-course programme includes over 140 hours of instruction and hundreds of practice-based assessments that will introduce initiating, planning, and running both traditional and Agile projects.
Upon completion, participants will gain key skills in creating risk management plans; understanding process improvement techniques; managing escalations, team dynamics, and stakeholders; creating budgets and navigating procurement; utilising project management software, tools, and templates; and practicing Agile project management, with an emphasis on Scrum.
